filling in the gaps

...our delightful neighbours invited the whole of our little community around for Christmas drinks, nibbles and a festive chinwag this lunchtime, which was such fun.

After cooking a quick meal, we had barely an hour of daylight left and the sky was looking very threatening. Nonetheless, I wanted to progress with capturing an image of each of the main bays and coastal features that stretch from Swanage to Weymouth. The Lulworth Ranges are, generally, only open at weekends and, today, I wanted to post an image of Worbarrow Bay, which sits between Kimmeridge Bay and Lulworth Cove. The quickest way to access the beach is from the MOD requisitioned ghost village of Tyneham.

With the next belt of rain rapidly approaching from the English Channel, we speed-walked to the waters edge so that I could capture a few frames before dusk. This image was taken from the beach below Worbarrow Tout (a peninsular hill protruding into the sea) looking across the bay to Mupe Rocks.

As we set off back down the track, the first raindrops started to fall and, within moments, we were being whipped from behind by heavy rain and hail. We didn't care though, as we were far too busy singing silly marching songs - something to do with being on military land perhaps? ...
