Kirsty

23rd March 2019:

What an amazing young woman.

This is Kirsty Nash from Cork, Ireland. She is a student from University College, studying International Development, doing a six month internship with Wells for Zoe.

This is Saturday lunchtime, at our Girl Child Project where everyone gets their best meal of the week, especially in this, the hungry season.

Kirsty has become a native, eating like the girls and staff, no knives, forks  or spoons but a bowl of clean water to wash her hands.

The meal has Nsima, a boiled Maize flour, the relish is cabbage and tomato and the protein is soya pieces.

She is there just two weeks and I have seen her everywhere, installing pumps, on the farm, in the preschools. Total immersion with the all Malawian staff not another white person in sight.

What a unique girl and what an amazing introduction to development.

Looking forward to meeting her next week
