Aakash Bhairav

Aakash Bhairav is one of the different forms of Bhairav. He is known as King Yalamber in history of Nepal, Barbarika in Mahabharat and Aaju in Nepali bhasa which means first King of Nepal. The temple of Aakash Bhairav is said to be the palace of the first King Yalamber. It is located at the heart of Kathmandu,Basantapur Durbar Square. It is taken out once a year on the occasion of Indra Jatra Festival and blessed by the Kumari, the living goddess who lives in the nearby Kumarichok. Many historical monuments and temples are located here, so many tourists once visit here while they come to Nepal.
