Linzer Torte

Linzer Torte is a traditional Christmas Cake in southwestern Germany, going back to the times when the area belonged to Austria. The oldest known recipe for this pastry is from the 17th century, and many families have their very own recipes handed down through the generations. I use the one from my grandmother, too, just leaving out the eggs so that the cake is vegan.
