Cooling Sizewell A

A visit to the coast today and saw the old cooling intake tower from Sizewell A nuclear power station was looking full of sea birds.  I liked the contrast of the colourful red warning bouy marking the huge structure! These intakes have not been used since Sizewell A stopped producing power from the reactors 20 years ago, but the neighbouring Sizewell B is still going strong.   Controversially a twin reactor Sizewell C power station is planned to go alongside the existing stations that will destroy a significant area of (eroding) coastline and protected area for wildlife and birds.
