First flowers

The first of the maples' acid green flowers are opening on the trees in the square - I tried taking one earlier in the day but the light was not good. Then I  noticed some late rays from the sun lighting them up so that they almost look golden.

In other news, I painted what I'm reliably informed is a soffit today. It involved some windowsill yoga so am feeling a little creaky now - time for a lie down!
