East gate Totnes

On another superb Spring day a topless trip to Totnes in the MX 5 for lunch and a spot of shopping. The town dates from about 907 AD and has an interesting history.  The East gate is now half way up the High Street, revealing the growth of the place over time. The extra shows the  part of the Butterwalk which dates from Tudor times and was constructed to protect dairy products from the sun and other elements.Market day is now Fridays when the town is heaving.
