Looks Good To Me

Navajo Code Talkers

It was another busy day, though not as strenuous as yesterday (13,265 steps). First we visted the historic Hubbell Trading Post, then moved on to Window Rock for lunch.

The statue is at the the Navajo Code Talkers Memorial in Window Rock, next to the Navajo Nation Museum. If you don’t know about the Code Talkers, Google it — it’s a very interesting story.

We are now in Gallup, where we’ll stay two nights. After checking in at our hotel I took the optional trip into town to browse with some of our new friends. I had thought we were still on the Navajo Reservation, where alcohol is banned, but was delighted to find a pub. I and my three companions were even more pleased to discover they had some good IPAs.

Dinner at a Chinese restaurant — who would expected to find one in this neck of the woods? The food was served buffet style, and the number of choices was overwhelming. And — yet another surprise — they had IPA.
