Underground Parking

OK not the most exciting view of Nanchang but in its own way it is important. In the past 10 years car ownership in the city has exploded. However parking spaces have not kept up. Underground parking is available in some of the newer shopping centres and apartment complexes as well as businesses and university campuses on the outskirts of the city but in the city centre pedestrians are often forced to walk in the road as the pavements are blocked by parked cars.

And as China's love affair with the car shows no sign of abating any time soon things look set to only get worse. Maybe it's time to buy shares in a company that builds and operates multi-storey car parks ;)
