Resting delicately on the celandine, a beautiful star-shaped yellow flower which carpets the woodlands at this time of year, was a hover-fly which just pinged out at me.

Recovering from yesterday's airport drive  up to London and my antics with the deer at Bushy Park I just knew the accounts called. Strike that - positively 'yelled' at me from the vast amounts of paperwork littering my desk. Ugh!

A quick garden blip on a gloriously sunny and warm day today which Poppy helped me with sitting at my side basking in the sunshine. I think this is Melanotoma Scalare but I am not the insect whisperer of old Worcester town (JDO)
