Life Savors

Grand Isle

We took a very long drive south today to Grand Isle, Louisiana.  We saw Osprey, Pelicans, Gulls, Willetts, Barn Swallows, various Egrets and Herons, butterflies and bees.  The weather was quite warm but the strong breeze off the gulf kept us cool.  We drove past many shipyards, and could see oil rigs out in the gulf.  At times we seemed to be driving past more water than land.  Southern Louisiana is quite unique.

We watched several Eastern Phoebes, catching insects, eating berries and perching in the trees. It was one of my better shots of the day so definitely blip-worthy.

Will be up at 4:00 a.m. to catch our 6:30 flight home.  I will arrive home just before our little granddaughter arrives for a weekend visit.  Can't wait.
