Light Painting for Dummies

I freely admit it. I have never tried this in my life before. On the Youtube video it looked easy enough. The idea was to suspend a point of light by a string above the camera, open the shutter in complete darkness set the light in some sort of circular motion and record the light as it traced its path back and forth across the sensor. Uh huh.

I set the ISO to the lowest setting, closed the aperture to f16 but spent a very frustrating and uncomfortable hour, fumbling about in darkness on the floor. In any event, this was the least worst result I got. Oh well. I learned quite a lot and may give it another try in future when my back recovers. Then again .... I might not. :o))
