Fuji

Today was the workshop excursion to an area below Mount Fuji. The forecast never gave any hope for clear views, but the best I got [see extra] was still impressive. We also visited the "Eight lakes" of Oshino. They are more like ponds, but are fed by springs from Fuji so have ancient spiritual significance. The village has some very attractive old buildings and "sculpted" trees [see extras]. Before returning to Tachikawa, we stopped off at the Arakura Fuji Sengen Jinja shrine [pictured], which was calm and beautiful with huge, wonderful pine trees.

Oh and we had a lovely lunch and a final meal together in Tachikawa [see extra]

It's been a great week: I fly home tomorrow and A stays for another week
