Life through the lens...

By ValC

Mr and Mrs Brambling.

Had such an enjoyable evening with K and A last night.
Lots of catching up.
Good food, wine and company.
Taxi came for us just before midnight.
We did see a couple of bramblings, and managed a few photos.

Called back mid morning to pick up my camera.
Wasn’t I glad I had left it behind.
We sat in their conservatory and it was like having our very own Spring Watch.
They only have a small garden, but it is a wildlife haven.
We watched about 6 bramblings fly backwards and forwards on to the feeders, along with goldfinches, chaffinches, cole tit.
Blackbirds, sparrows, wrens and robins were all busy nest building in the bushes etc.
I managed to get a photo of the robin with his beak full of moss. ( see extra )
So unexpectedly I managed a shot of the bramblings for today’s Blip.
Just as we were leaving A. saw a sparrow hawk swoop down and catch a little bird. It had flown off before we got chance to see it.

Another beautiful day. A little cooler but still 14C. Hope it continues tomorrow.
Will have to water my pots though.

PS. Can’t believe it. Just seen two bramblings on our feeders, along with the goldfinches.
They must have followed us home!
