Up in the mountains

We took a trip out today, to the Chrysorrogiatissa monastery up in the hills at Pelagia.

This is the view from the rather small car park. Tremendous, isn't it? We sat outside the monastery café for a bite to eat and a cappuccino. It was a bit nippy but at least not raining. We could see it raining elsewhere, including over Paphos.

Some very pleasing landscapes on the way. Before leaving Pelagia we went looking for the statue of Archbishop Makarios, who was instrumental in securing independence for Cyprus. Pelagia was his birthplace.

Have bought two pork chops to fry for dinner tonight with onions, apples and mushrooms.
