This glorious magnolia is in a neighbouring front garden, there for all to enjoy. They have recently had their front garden refurbished, but made sure the magnolia stayed. The dark ones don't seem to grow as large as the pale ones, but are very beautiful.
When we first moved into our house my in-laws bought us a magnolia, thinking it was a spring flowering variety, but it was a grandiflora and it is now a 20ft evergreen tree which produces large, white, heavy scented flowers in midsummer. It too has been blipped in its time.
Bright sunny day today, still dry.
