Good idea

or was it. I had two pot bound Pieris plants which needed to spread their wings. This morning I requested help to (a) dig deep hole and (b) take shrubs out of containers. Firstly though the compost bin needed moving slightly and emptying, this entailed carrying at least six buckets full and spreading around. Job done,, so now to dig deep wide hole, that was not too bad Tedwin did most of this and then lifted the big plant out of pot, couldn't believe it just came out. Put in prepared hole watered well (I watch Monty Don) and then went for a rest and coffee. Back out to deal with second hole and plant. I dug this hole but the plant refused to budge from pot. We spent considerable time and energy and were eventually successful. Had to carry it between us to new site, not so easy when steps involved. So two 80 plus folk were a bit worn out by lunch time.
