My topsy-turvy life

Back again

I got a message at about half past one saying that Louisa was taking Owen to the walk-in centre at the hospital.

He's been a bit under the weather, coughing and sneezing and his breathing was sounding wheezier today. With his TOF history and knowing that he's likely to be prone to chest infections we wanted to get him into hospital to be checked out and hopefully pre-empt anything sinister.
Luckily working in the hospital meant that I could pop down to A&E to see how they were getting on. After 3 hours waiting in the -mildly depressing- children's waiting room they were moved to Children's Assessment, just in time for me finishing work properly.

Then there was a lot of waiting around in there for observations and the doctor to have a look at him who diagnosed bronchiolitis, nothing they could really do to treat it but at least it wasn't something more serious. He just wanted to monitor Owen's oxygen sats while he was asleep to make sure he was safe to go home and get the registrar to sign off the discharge.

Cue a very awake baby here who took a good couple of hours, plenty of milk and a false alarm to actually fall asleep so that we could get that done and take him home.

We eventually left just before 11 o'clock...
