CITY OF WELLS

For a few days, the East Lancs Railway has moved their locomotive City of Wells to the North York Moors Railway. In return NYMR will lend their locomotive Repton later in the year.
Main image shows City of Wells pulling into Levisham. Built in 1949 she worked out of Victoria to the Kent coast. Extras Selection shows a selection of 4 images  . . . TL Repton waiting for City of Wells to clear the line . . . TR Repton Steamy Wheel . . . BL Patient Drivers . . . BR The Photographer works within the smoke . . . and finally Repton pulling out of Levisham on the way to Pickering.
926 Repton was completed in May 1934 on the Waterloo-Portsmouth route . . . until being bought by the NYMR. When I get a moment I will put other images on My Blog.
