To the Woods

The boughs of the foreground tree form an elegant arch framing the view down towards the conifers and into a patch of distant light beyond. I wish I knew more about tree identification to give them a name.

The tree that leans left, the sapling to its right and the bits of fencing all add extra detail to the scene. I find trying to make something interesting out of an ordinary subject is far more challenging and rewarding than, for example, photographing the dramatic colours of a vibrant sunset. And I feel more connected to the natural world around me.
