Three Jacobites.

These three stain glass windows depict Jacobites Prince Charles Edward Stuart (Bonnie Prince Charlie), Lord George Murray and Lord John Drummond who led their soldiers against the Hanoverian soldiers at the second Battle of Falkirk in 1746. They’re from a long demolished mansion house built near the battle site around 1840. The designer, James Ballantine, also designed windows for the House of Lords at Westminster.
The windows were in museum storage for 40 years and fell into disrepair. Some years ago Eagle Star Insurance agreed to fund their restoration. Some sections were replaced and other glass panes repaired during the 18 month restoration period.
