Not so welcome

Things must be bad out there in nature land.  This is one of the few omnivore birds we have in these parts - it's a Currawong.  Larger than a raven, and a bigger thicker beak than a magpie.  

They eat seed but only when they are desperate.  

We rarely see them which is a good thing, because amongst their favourite foods are young nestlings that fall from the nest.  

They usually get mobbed by small birds who attempt to drive them away from the garden.

I'm having a bit of a love affair with my "big" camera.  Phones are all very well, but I'm not good enough to get a really good shot with them.
