Between fen and mountains

Seven buckets

Building work is labour intensive in the street above me.  There is no access other than by the steps so dumper trucks cannot be used. The builders have to be very fit.  I went to see Paul in the Maison de Retraite in Vinça today.  The nursing home is purpose built and bright and airy and  the staff are smiley.  It seems much better than the ones local to me in the UK.  Paul, who has Alzheimers, is physically and mentally just the shell of the man I knew only a year ago. He is not aware of his wife's recent death but seems happy enough and we managed to have a bit of jumbled conversation about his early adult life.  The main thing is that he was pleased to see us. This afternoon's walk was up to the belvedere again but this time up the steps through the old village
