Loch Bhac

Weather forecast suggested this would be the best day for a long walks and it proved right. We decided to follow the old rights of way from Calvine, including the Old Struan Church Road  to Loch Bhac (one of the many fishing lochs dotted around this part of Perthshire) and back.

It was grand walk taking us along the side of the Garry, across farmland, through birch woods, then moorland followed by pine woods before reaching the Loch.  Great view on way back including Beinn a Ghlo, Ben Vuirich,  Ben Vrackie and the foothills of Beinn Dearg. As ever I enjoy looking at them from afar having climbed them previously (11 times in the case of Ben Vrackie ).

The track from Struan eventually takes you to Loch Tummel and forms part of the Old Struan Coffin Road, an old right of waywhich allowed people to carry coffins from Loch Tummel to the church at Old Struan.  It would have been hard work carrying a coffin the length of the track.
