One life to live

Hellebore

Had painting classes today, painted with egg tempera. Never tried that technique before! I liked it a lot and it's quite easy to make tempera paint at home. Egg tempera was a primary method of painting until after 1500 when it was superseded by the invention of oil painting. For example, every surviving panel painting by Michelangelo is egg tempera and another example of an artist who mastered tempera is  Sandro Botticelli.

My father-in-law called me yesterday evening and gave me a hint for a blip (how sweet is that!): Hellebore a.k.a Christmas Rose is in full bloom in snow, in their garden.
