Into Kendal and back again in the morning before the tourist traffic built up. A 35p shop at Sainsbury's thanks to using points that have been accumulating on my nectar card.

On the way home we noticed work had started in the toy shop for the filming of Peter Rabbit 2. I wandered past in the afternoon and stopped to take a phone shot of the window, not realising that security were behind me. "You're not planning to share that on social media are you?" I quickly decided that a photo was going to be of poor quality because of light and reflections so didn't bother. I was advised that it will look a lot better tomorrow when all the work is finished. Think a telephoto lens will be needed though.

Lots of activity on the lake and many types of boat including this steam powered one. I sat and watched while the chap ate his fish and chips then steam appeared from the funnel, the lady untied the rope and with another plume of steam the whistle sounded and they headed off down the lake. More in extras.

Information from the steamboat register is that it was built in 1910 and operated as a motor hire boat on the Norfolk Broads. In the early 1980's it was changed from a cabin boat to an open launch and steamed regularly on theThames. It came to Windermere in 2003.
