A rare moment ...

..... with no-one on the escalator at Tottenham Court Road tube station. This station has had a huge update/makeover in preparation for the new crossrail scheme which will connect London to itself and parts of southeast England in new and different ways. The £15.9 billion, 117 kilometre scheme, to be known as the Elizabeth line, has been 20 years in the planning and implementation and is running behind schedule and over budget which is not really surprising as it so ambitious. Some people are really cross and "disgusted" that it is so late and expensive but l think it is better to get it right and for the whole scheme to be properly tested safety-wise before the estimated 200 million people per year start using it.
