STOKE BRUERNE. DERELICT SUNDAY 165.

We’ve been away to Stoke Bruerne for a few days in the mobile home. The weather was a bit cold but I had a great time taking photographs. My main photo is a rusty old boat for derelict Sunday. Thank you to Marlieske for hosting D.S.  My extras are the lock and a photo I took walking along the canal. The village itself is full of little surprises – not least the tow path to the Blisworth Tunnel, where boaters used to 'leg' their boats through the narrow passage. Here you'll find an idyllic picture of passing canal boats, thatched cottages, local wildlife and canal side pubs. Most of the buildings have been here over 200 years. Little has changed since the heyday of Britain's canals.
