Leonardo,s Oak Galls !!!!!!

As some of you know I volunteer at the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery and at the moment I am looking after the amazing work of Leonardo da Vinci.
Something that caught my intrest was the materials that he used to paint and draw with and one of them was an ink made from Oak Apples or oak galls which he mixed with tannic acid and water and i have made 5 slightly different mixtures and i am using OAK GALLS to great effect and mixed with a range of different materials. These two beautys i found today down the local park. They do host a number of horrid insects as you can see the holes !!!!!!!! Enjoy.... The extra is a deer in said local park.
