Spider

Spider outside my front door. About 1:1 magnification. It was amazing to watch it waving the feathery front appendage (apparently called a pedipalp) about, then folding it away again.
My little off-camera flash arrived today. Even though I've yet to get it mounted where I want it, and sort out a better diffuser, the improvement in macro photos has astonished me. Finally I can have a smaller aperture, and more depth of field with a fast shutter speed.
Extras show two spiders in a stand-off (or were they courting?) and a close up of the other spider.
