Interesting Day

Thank you for all your lovely comments, stars and hearts for yesterday's blip of R.  Today was one of those days that got a little bit too interesting.  R needed to get back to Glasgow as she is flying to Amsterdam tomorrow.  We parked up at Craignure and waited for the 11am ferry so that she could catch the 12.10 train.  We were all a bit bleary after a late night of celebrating and didn't spot that the lanes for the cars to go on the ferry were rather empty!  Eventually R said where is this ferry then?  Better check the status (I usually do this first thing before setting off). Did and found them cancelled with a warning that they could be off all day (later learned that a large piece of the pier had come away see this link).  Raced down to the Fishnish ferry, frantically planning how to get R either to Oban or Glasgow (had the dogs with us too so could see it getting complicated if we couldn't get back the same day).  We joined the long queue knowing it would take several ferry loads to clear up to where we were.  R and I walked up the queue peering into car windows looking for familiar faces, found a few but they were either going in the wrong direction or full of people/dogs/bikes.  To cut a long story short we managed to get R a lift with a complete stranger who dropped her at a train station where she could get a train to Glasgow.  So a big thank you to Stephen and also to the crew on the Fishnish ferry who kept a shuttle service running to help people get to where they needed to be.
