A wee bit rusty

The Tyne God by David Wynne (installed 1968), a 16ft high, 2 and a quarter ton bronze on the outer wall of the Newcastle Civic Centre Council Chambers. At this time of year they turn off the tap to protect the old guy from frost damage, but in the summer water cascades from his upheld right hand, trickling over his body before falling into a basin below. One of Newcastle's nicest public art works!
