Getting Warm

This rather tatty yellow admiral was sitting on dead grass soaking up the warm sunshine, before setting out on the day’s adventures. I’m always intrigued by the way they wear their two front legs as a fluffy scarf.

For the last few weeks two fantails have been visiting my garden. One is the usual pied type and the other is the more rare plain black. They are  very noisy as they flit about, coming within a couple of metres of me. Today they came into my livingroom and made such a racket! They are so sweet. I have had pied fantails in the house before, but not a black one. Unfortunately it was too dim inside for photos.
