Stile Shifters

We drove to Arncliffe this morning, met with Dave and Tony, and walked up on to Kilnsey Moor to move several stiles in to position in readiness for the British Orienteering Championships next month.

We had great views across to Fountains Fell and in to the Cowside Beck Valley as we crossed the moor.  Back down in the pretty village of Arncliffe, Dave went off to deliver event notifications around the houses.  We had left Tony T on the moor checking control sites so Tony and I drove down the road a ways where we parked up and Tony headed back up the fellside to move another stile.  My knees had done coming downhill for the day so I walked the couple of miles along the road to the Cafe at Kilnsey Crag and enjoyed their smoked trout chowder and a cuppa whilst I waited for Tony to return.
