It's a Journey....

Gooseberry Falls State Park

These falls are beautiful any time of year, but especially in the spring.  With the snow melt and runoff they are roaring!   In the summer this is a very busy tourist attraction and it is really difficult to get a photo without people in it.  The water levels are lower and you can wade in the water near the falls.  Tonight we only saw about six other people the entire time we were there - like we had our own private park.  This photo shows the Middle and Lower Falls.  The water color, which is referred to as "Root Beer colored" is because the rivers carry tannins from swamps and decaying vegetation which gives the water an amber color.
