Compton Acres

We had a lovely visit to Compton Acres garden today. We hadn’t been there for 18 years and they have sold off land for development (upmarket flats which look very Italianate in design, rather like Portmeirion). We still thought the gardens were better than before. There are now lots of waterfalls and bridges and interesting paths among the azaleas, rhododendrons, camellias etc. Really fantastic!

The photo is of part of the Italian garden area. I was surprised how many daffodils were still out in there. We had coffee and cake before the walk and delicious quiche afterwards. We have treated ourselves to cream scones to eat back at the B and B.
