A favourite tree.

Another on the list of local trees which I admire.

This one is a Crack Willow. (Salix fragilis) They often have multiple trunks and when they are old, as here, they have very coarse bark. Although they are fast growing this one must be quite old given its large size.

It stands at an important path junction on the Leighton Moss bird reserve and I have probably passed it a few hundred times.

We were there this morning for a Blip meeting with Woodleywise and Mrs. W. It was very enjoyable as W and I have a lot in common having spent our working lives managing universities. We do, however, have very different blipping styles.
