Buddha

Today I was at school, learning a new topic in RE of buddhism! I like my RE lessons and find it interesting to learn about others life styles and cultures. I came home and saw this Buddha in our shelves and thought it fitting for today’s blip.
I didn’t understand this until a few months ago but the big bellied Buddha that is often seen in decorative statues, isn’t the same as Siddartha (like the one in this photo) who was the first to become enlightened. I used to get confused and think they were the same person and people couldn’t decide what he looked like!
