A Guard of Honour

One of our older parishioners was farewelled in good style this week.

93 years ago he was carried through that door to be baptised, 67 years ago he posed there with his bride, and here are some of his grandchildren carrying him out past a Guard of Honour provided by his Men's Shed friends.

He had a remarkable memory, and could tell you names, dates and places of things that had happened in the neighbourhood since his childhood.
As he grew less mobile, his love was to have a chat with anyone who had the time. We had several. I know that I will miss him and so will many others.

The mens shed is a really positive movement - a bit like scouting for older blokes.
