Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

National Identity

I’m still thinking about the paintings of Charles Pachter (the artist who did the serigraphs in
the Journals of Susanna Moodie, with Margaret Atwoods poetry). and how his art was mostly about his  national identity.   He has a moose series and a flag series.. HERE
SO….a much nicer day today... today we replaced our flags on our point,.  these poles stuck in the rock are the originals from about 1991…but the flags get torn.   And yes, we’re going to fly them both.  Canada isn’t perfect either.   I have such a collection of moose, I’m going to just use them for fun… this one happens to be from Sweden (where they are called “elk’) but he’ll do..a relative carried him from Sweden to the island here for us.

Maple was much happier today too.  outside almost all day.  (extra)
