Stop & Shop Alternative

Workers at Stop & Shop supermarkets are in their second day of a strike in southern New England. Since we normally would not cross picket lines, we shopped a few minutes away at this store. Stop & Shop includes over 400 markets in the Northeast; it has been a subsidiary of the Dutch company Ahold since 1995. It seems likely that the stores are having difficulty finding replacement workers due to the prevailing very tight labor market. Stay tuned!
