End of a great day

We awoke this morning to music from speakers rigged up by the organisers of the village fête.  It went on throughout the day, not too bad, mostly muted.  Now and then. though, an excitable Frenchman would take the mike and rant on furiously about the glories of tractors and brush cutters.   We have a lot to do in the house and spent the morning painting and refurbishing doors, replacing old glass with wood to give privacy in the downstairs cloakroom.  In the afternoon, I spent a happy couple of hours on the mower cutting all the grass.  Aperos in the sun, staying out until sunset, completed the day.
