in the zone....

I spent the day in the studio yesterday, painting....boy it felt so good to be there!  Definitely felt a bit out of practice, and so was not feeling too focused or successful.   I was excited to use a new product i got while i was away.....RF pigment sticks!   they are oil sticks, very smooth and buttery, and expensive!!!  but i really wanted to try them.   So after having some fun with a new experiment...see extra...i played with the pigment sticks on top of a piece i wasn't happy with....it was completely dry and so i had no idea how the sticks would work!   i was pleasantly surprised, this was the result!  Cold wax and oil on cradled panel, 2' x 2'.

the extra is 2 pieces of paper taped down, and i made marks that crossed over into each other, a new way of painting for me.  these aren't done yet!!
