Between fen and mountains

Kipling's rock

This is the rock that Kipling used to sit on when taking the waters in the village and seeking inspiration for stories.  He and his wife used to come for the therapeutic waters.  He also was one of the funders of the Anglican church.  I listened to another report on the radio this morning and lots of people have been stopping me in the village and asking about the project and when they can see the ringing.  Quite a few are already signed up to learn.  The painting class was a good relaxation this afternoon.  I have just been up to see the deputy Maire who wanted to give me the good news that the Fondation du Patrimoine has confirmed its €15,000 donation which will be matched by the Conseil General. The project is now more or less fully funded.
