Sunday: Mary and Rich

The weather has been spectacular - warm enough to feel the sun on your bones but not so warm as to be uncomfortable.

After breakfast we took a drive out to some of the local wineries, more to look than taste as it was too early in the day and we were travelling later on. Some of the wineries were amazing with castle like structures and sweeping drives. In some places it was easy to think that you were in the middle of Tuscany.

We had lunch in Calistoga, sitting outside, which felt like such a treat.

K and I departed Napa mid afternoon and drove back to San Francisco airport - it's been a great weekend away and just shows us again how much you can do in a weekend. The only downside was that our flight home was horribly delayed so that we didn't get home until 0100 in the morning - three hours later than we should have.

I've known Mary for many years. She's originally from New York but we met when she was working in London many years ago. It's also been a treat getting to know her husband, Rich, over the years.
