I've heard many things today, the most common being that we felt a wave of pain in our hearts, a shock similar to the one we experienced on 9/11. Notre Dame is a powerful spiritual symbol, a place of grandiose religious architecture and works of art of great beauty, a cathedral where people went regardless of their faith to connect with something bigger than us.
The fire seems a reflection of our explosive world and a scary premonition.
