The only royal palace in the USA

Alohaland has the one and only royal palace in the USA. It was beautiful, but also moving and sad to see how the indigenous Hawaiians' culture was tamed and squeezed into a Western mould. Small tokens of Hawaiian culture can be seen, like in the peacock pattern in the dress and the feather ornaments next to the thrones, but the rest was imported. And then the Hawaiian royal family was overthrown by the wealthy local businessmen and sugar planters, making way for the USA to purchase it. Tragic! Poor Queen Liliuokalani was imprisoned in the Palace for eight months. It was a really interesting visit!
