Legodude

Tis the season #19

'The Dome' is a high class bar and restaurant on George Street, Edinburgh. It also has conference and reception facilities. Originally the site was owned by The Royal College of Physicians, who sold it on to the Commercial Bank of Scotland in 1843. The bank demolished the original structure and architect James Rhind designed a replacement banking building to a Graeco Roman style. Over the centuries The Commercial Bank of Scotland merged with other banks and eventually ended up as part of The Royal Bank of Scotland. As The Royal Bank already had their HQ on St. Andrew's Square they sold off the old Commercial Bank building on George Street and a firm called Caledonian Heritage Ltd converted it into the current use. Every year The Dome puts on a spectacular Christmas display. I'm not smart or posh enough to have ever been inside. I took a photo from this angle and another shot straight on. Following Mrs. Legodude's advice I'm posting the angle pic. She's right as usual :)
