St Bathans

Marie organised for us to go away for the day, overnighting in Alexandra. I love the Maniototo and Central Otago, hot and dry in the Summer and freezing cold in the Winter. The landscape is brilliant with old Mud brick houses and buildings scattered around the area. We traveled up to Matakanui (Tinkers) an old mining town from the Gold rush days, here we found the Drybread School which will be rebuilt to the original specs and Squizzy a one eyed Beardy Huntaway cross (extra). Around Alexandra the Autumn colours are full and vibrant (extra). Tomorrow we will go to Arrowtown but the Weather forecast doesn't look to good.
