The West Coast

You start to run out of superlatives in New Zealand it seems like you turn the corner and there is another amazing sight. The weather came back to being sunny, unfortunately no time to go up Mt Robert as we had to get on the road.

We saw the seal colony up near Cape Foulwind (Captain cook in a bad mood the day he named that) had a fantastic lunch at the the Bay House and a superb drive down the west coast. There is just native vegetation running down to the road, then the wild sea and mountains in the distance, and almost no sign of any human habitation for about 100k. Fantastic ! We also took in the pancake rocks and blow holes which were pretty amazing. Finished in Greymouth (no superlatives required unfortunately) but just in time for a tour of the Monteiths Brewery who have just had some very new brewing kit installed which we got a chance to look at on the tour. I have a west coast passport now.
